Mohsen Hazrati: Fãl Project

Fãl Project combines artificial intelligence and augmented reality with the ancient tradition of bibliomancy, a fortune-telling technique. In Fãl Project the Berlin-based Iranian media artist Mohsen Hazrati reworks and reclaims Persian knowledge systems. Hazrati’s AI system chooses random sections from poems by the famous Iranian poet Hafiz, translates his words into code, and searches online for visual, audio, and text data based on the analyzed content. The project reveals the magic of the virtual world, making use of AI’s capacity to predict the future and connecting it with the potentials of literature. Fãl Project can be viewed throughout the festival. On Saturday at 3.30 pm Mohsen Hazrati will briefly present his project and then be on site for an exchange.
